In soccer action, four goals were tallied in the match's final 15 minutes, but it was Albemarle who scored last, taking a heart-stopping 4-3 victory over Mills Godwin in the 5A Boys Semifinal at Lake Braddock Secondary School. The Eagles' first defeat since April 9th ended their season a game short of the title game.

Elizabeth Ball and Deep Run will not get a chance to defend their state crown of a year ago, as the Wildcats fell 1-0 to Stone Bridge on a late second half goal. After a 1-3-1 start, the Wildcats won 15 straight, including the 5A South Region Championship, before falling this evening.
